Babelsberg Studio was a German film studio based in Berlin.
In the 1920s, Fritz Lang worked at the studio to work on his science fiction epic Metropolis. The Ninth Doctor visited in August 1925, where he prevented Dieter Jovanovic from halting production by unleashing a Cyberman onto the set.
Metropolis ultimatly proved to be a hugely iconic and influential film . At the time of its release in 1927, however, it was a cinematic failure which nearly bankrupted the studio. (AUDIO: Monsters in Metropolis)
