Davros's trial (War of the Daleks)
Thirty years following the apparent destruction of Skaro during the Imperial-Renegade Dalek Civil War, Davros, formerly the Emperor Dalek, was placed on trial held on Skaro by the Dalek Prime, who sought to remove any supporters of Davros from the Dalek race. However, those Daleks loyal to Davros turned on the Dalek Prime and a civil war broke out. In the end, Davros' forces were defeated, and Davros was apparently executed by matter dispersal, although the Spider Dalek responsible for Davros's sentence had actually been converted to his cause earlier. (PROSE: War of the Daleks)
Incidentally, the circumstances of this trial, including its true purposes and the apparent fate of Davros, bore similarities to one account of the earlier trial which took place after Davros was captured on Necros. In this account, Davros, before his execution, warned that the Daleks were doomed without him, which would come to pass with the failure of Operation Human Factor and the resulting Dalek Civil War. (PROSE: The History of the Daleks) Other accounts, however, indicated that the Daleks had survived the Human Factor incident, (COMIC: Bringer of Darkness) and that the return of Davros was still within their future. Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- AHistory speculatively dates the trial and renewed civil war to c. 4693, and puts that it was followed by Emperor Davros's invasion of Earth about a decade later.
