Doc Gallifrey
Doc Gallifrey was the version of the Eighth Doctor in one parallel universe. He was the gun-toting protector of Vortex City.

Doc Gallifrey had a "history" with "the man in black".
The Doc once walked down Salvation Street, whistling a "slow tune" before facing off against the man in black, with the townsfolk praying and placing bets. Doc Gallifrey lost this confrontation, being shot before seeing his opponent draw his gun. The Eighth Doctor of another universe briefly experienced these events when he was shown his various possible lives by the Glory. Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The Eighth Doctor's first outfit was a costume of the famous lawman and gunfighter Wild Bill Hickok. This version of his incarnation fulfills the actual role of a lawman and gunfighter, who was also shot to death like Hickok.
- The name "Doc Gallifrey" is a reference to John Henry "Doc" Holliday, an American dentist and gambler who participated in the infamous 1881 "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" in Tombstone, Arizona.
