Drunk man (Now or Thereabouts)

A drunk man was babbling and weaving around the flat of a war veteran in the Eleven-Day Empire when Little Brother Dominic visited to issue an eviction notice. When the drunk man approached Dominic, Dominic momentarily feared that he was a Mal'akh due to something about his appearance which he later described to Godfather Starch and "primal" and "vampiric". At the same time, Dominic noted that neither the drunk man nor the war veteran possessed much "in the way of corporeal structure". (PROSE: Now or Thereabouts)

The characters in the flat previously appeared in author Blair Bidmead's short story With All Awry. In that story, the drunk man was called "Reg", and he took care of the amnesiac Eighth Doctor.
- With All Awry specified that Reg appeared tall and lugubrious, well-spoken but acerbic, and dressed in slightly worn but fine and theatrical clothes. Sometimes, the Doctor felt Reg was his closest friend; other times, the Doctor couldn't tell where he ended and Reg began; and at still other times, the Doctor felt that Reg didn't exist at all.
- Reg tried several times to help the Doctor escape, but failed each time until Fitz sent a telegraph to the Doctor saying that the TARDIS was at Earl's Court. Reg dropped the Doctor off at the tube station to get to Earl's Court, then faded away into nothingness.
