Henry was a footman at Cranleigh Hall.

By 1925, Henry was working as a footman at Cranleigh Hall. He assisted at the Cranleighs' annual charity ball on 11 June 1925 and was sent by Brewster to find James when he failed to return with a bucket. According to one account, he found James's body. (TV: Black Orchid [+]Loading...["Black Orchid (TV story)"]) According to another, the Fifth Doctor was the first to discover the body and then sent Henry to alert Charles Cranleigh. Henry reported to Brewster (TV: Black Orchid [+]Loading...["Black Orchid (TV story)"]) on account of him being the one to communicate domestic crises with Charles. He reluctantly kept an eye on Adric, Nyssa and Tegan Jovanka in another room whilst the Doctor, Charles and Robert Muir discussed the murder. According to one account, Henry later spotted George Cranleigh carrying Nyssa onto the roof of Cranleigh Hall and alerted Madge Cranleigh.
