Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory had an original film.

Contents[[edit] | [edit source]]

The film featured "a sweet little boy who went to a magical chocolate factory with four other horrid children, all spoilt and greedy", all of whom were white. The children were not invited to the factory, instead needing to earn, buy, or chance their ways into the factory. History[[edit] | [edit source]]

One version of Jenny Everywhere was familiar with the film. She'd watched it when she was young, with her grandmother pointing out "Five random children chosen from all around the world, and five white kids are the ones invited in.". Jenny was aware that they had not been "invited", and partly wanted to correct her grandmother, but also felt a "slight twang of resentment and disappointment" that nobody such as herself - a Native American - had been able to experience the magic. By the time the movie had ended, she'd developed a crush on the protagonist, a crush which persisted until high school.

When she encountered the Unknown in one universe, she noted that she'd never heard of such a character in the original film, the book it was adapted from, or the literary sequel. (PROSE: A World of Pure Unimagination [+]Loading...["A World of Pure Unimagination (short story)"])
