"The Unknown" was the name used by Willy McDuff and the Wonkidoodles to refer to an entity who occupyed McDuff's "chocolate factory", and whom McDuff claimed was "an evil chocolate-maker who lives in the walls".

Although Courtesy speculated the Unknown to be "just a kid", Jenny Everywhere noted the Unknown's ability to freeze McDuff as making this unlikely.

The Unknown was occupying Willy McDuff's "chocolate factory" in Glasgow at the time of at least one newspaper reporting on the "factory", on 24 February 2024.

After shifting into the native Jenny Everywhere's body, another Jenny visited the "factory" after reading about it in the aforementioned newspaper, ultimately joining Willy McDuff's tour. During this, the Unknown appeared behind a mirror, causing the children present to shriek in fear or/and cry, with McDuff introducing the entity as "The Unknown!".

Jenny was confused by this, noting that such a character didn't exist in the original film, the book it was based on, or the literary sequel. With a wave of her hand, the Unknown froze McDuff in position before asking the crowd to assist her in stealing McDuff's recipes, promising an unlimited supply of sweets, to which the crowd declined, including Jenny.

Soon after, Jenny attempted to tackle the entity to the ground, just as the Unknown unfroze McDuff and vanished in a shower of sparks, with Jenny almost crashing into a brick wall. Although McDuff initially claimed there to be no issue, Jenny pressed him on the matter, asking what he'd have done had the Unknown taken the children, with McDuff simply shrugging as she hadn't taken them.

Intent on investigating the matter further, Jenny split off from the group and found a pair of Wonkidoodles, Courtesy and Janine, by a desk. Jenny asked them about McDuff and the Unknown, leading them to talk about it outside. Upon learning that the event was apparently orchestrated by the Illuminati, Jenny noted that this "would blow the Unknown and the cheap theatrics alike completely and utterly out of the water on the weirdness scale".

Courtesy soon after explained her theory that the Unknown was "just a kid". Jenny later noted that this universe had seemed fairly mundane in spite of "whatever the Unknown really was", and later still noted that the Unknown was "no hypnotised kid", having seen what she was capable of.
