The Cyberon War had been going on for some time by 3009, when the Oblivion Spark chased a Cyberon vessel carrying a new, experimental Conversion Engine out the Jathar Expanse and all the way to Gulliver's Rest. There, the Cyberons escaped through the Merrapine Scar, a time rift, reemerging in 2000.
