Ancestor

An ancestor was any lifeform from whom another was descendant. (TV: The Daleks, The Web Planet et al.) As such, ancestors were parents, followed by grandparents.

By the aftermath of the Imperial-Renegade Dalek Civil War, the Dalek Prime claimed to be the last survivor of what he knew to be the "first Daleks" and identified himself as the ancestor of the billions of Daleks that had been created since. (PROSE: War of the Daleks)
