The church of St Barnabas was a church in Portsmouth in England. It was destroyed by the Luftwaffe during the Blitz in World War II and was rebuilt in the 1950s.
In an alternate timeline where Nancy Grover became Goddess of the World after 1934 with the cooperation of Brokk, the war never happened and the old church survived. The old church began to reappear in the original timeline in place of the new one as a symptom of the timelines beginning to be rewritten before the Third Doctor and UNIT averted it.
