Dr Gorley Herring was a physician who was murdered at Betteredge Hall. The case was investigated by amateur detective Miss Jane, who was herself murdered with poisoned tea. Fortunately, Herring's killer, not wanting to be charged for two murders, confessed to the crime. (PROSE: The Sleuth Slayers)
