Heinz Guderian
General Heinz Guderian was a general of Nazi Germany in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was one of the leaders during the Blitzkrieg campaign against Western Europe in May 1940, along with Adolf Hitler and Erwin Rommel.
At the head of a Panzer Division, Guderian sped through France against the Western Allies, capturing Abbeville, Boulogne and Calais, thereby surrounding the British Expeditionary Force at Dunkirk. Before Guderian could finish his enemies off, however, Hitler lost the power of the Timewyrm that had hitherto been behind much of Germany's strategic success. Hitler was then convinced by the Seventh Doctor to let the British Army escape. Hitler issued orders that Guderian was to halt his advance on Dunkirk, allowing the British to evacuate their soldiers back home.
Alternate timeline[[edit] | [edit source]]
In an alternate timeline in which Hitler never lost the power of the Timewyrm, he never issued the order for Guderian to halt outside Dunkirk. Subsequently, the British were defeated by his Panzers, setting the stage for the successful German invasion of Britain. (PROSE: Timewyrm: Exodus)
