- Jacqueline Maguire originated in the Doctor Who fanfiction of Susannah Tiller. The King of Terror author Keith Topping thanked Tiller for allowing him to mention the character.
- Maguire featured in the Missing Pieces story All The Time In The World, which showed her in a relationship with companion Sam Jones. The two met when Sam visited Sydney with the Eighth Doctor and felt an immediate attraction to Maguire that she could not fully understand until after leaving the Doctor and sorting her own feelings.
