Jeremy Winterdawn

Jeremy Winterdawn was a physicist. He was a professor at Cambridge until a car accident killed his wife and rendered him paraplegic. His friend Charles Moore Wedderburn discovered the metahedron in the Amazon. Winterdawn's experimentation with it had unintentional consequences, including the creation of Gabriel and Tanith. They made him able to walk again, then after a short time revoked their cure, sheerly for their own amusement. He died from a heart attack while in Cathedral. (PROSE: Falls the Shadow)
