Klikbrain

Klikbrain was a robot.

It was built by Vol Mercurius as an intellectual companion while he lived alone on the planet Dispater. The two played parachess. Abslom Daak went to Dispater to recruit Mercurius to fight the Daleks. They were invading the planet when Daak arrived, which helped convince Mercurius to depart on the Kill-Wagon. He did not take Klikbrain with him, turning it off before he left. (COMIC: Star Tigers)

Somehow Klikbrain remained active, and after some months, it managed to find its way off of Dispater by adapting the power core of a crashed Dendrellian Star Treader. Consumed with anger at Mercurius for leaving it alone, it plotted revenge, gathering a considerable amount of weaponry as well as other implements such as acid. It made its way to Paradise, where it practiced the tortures it intended to inflict on its creator by dismantling people, becoming known as the Mechanic. When Mercurius was on Paradise it searched for him only to encounter Abslom Daak, who deactivated it. (PROSE: Between the Wars: A Slow Night in Paradise)
