Luanne was a member of UNIT and the undercover liaison with the British Rocket Group's UK Rocket Project 9.2, the Guinevere One space probe, in which capacity she served as the press officer. As Guinevere One was shrouded in a high level of secrecy, many of her colleagues at the Rocket Group, such as Matthew Nicolson and Duerte Rodriguez, imagined that her job could only consist of answering the telephone and denying that the facility was home to a top-secret rocket project. The existence of UNIT was unknown to even the project's leader, Daniel Llewellyn, and thus Luanne's true duties were a secret. She was friends with Sally Jacobs, who worked at the Tower of London.
