A woman once appeared on television on Earth in the 2000s.
An image of the woman in military uniform holding a man by a leash was present among several broadcasts monitored by far future Cybermen. The Cyber-Controller used the image as justification to save the world from itself and convert early 21st century Earth. (COMIC: The Flood [+]Loading...["The Flood (comic story)"])

The image, although unidentified in the story, is based on a real world image of US Army private and later convicted war criminal Lynndie England at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Several photographs of the Abu Ghraib torture and prisoner abuse began receiving media coverage during the release of The Flood in 2004 and 2005, including the image of England recreated in the comic.
