Mathilda Pierce was a woman living in Lannet. She was elderly when she met the Ninth Doctor in 2003. The Shalka launched a sonic attack when she tried to tell him about the danger in town. This killed Mathilda, but also caused the Doctor's nose to bleed. (WC: Scream of the Shalka, PROSE: Scream of the Shalka)
