Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Beneath the Andes, the population of Project City, cut off from information from the outside, are threatened by radiation should they venture outside its confines. The life of Virgil Tracy hangs in the balance at the same time as on-the-spot correspondent Spencer Howard reports that he has become trapped in the cab of the Mole, International Rescue's burrowing machine, while attempting to reach the top secret community of scientists deep within the mountains. However, Howard notes that it looks as if Virgil has failed and will now perish along with the Mole.

Meanwhile, Spectrum release a communique regarding the Mysteron threat to destroy the "Elite", with Cloudbase associating the threat with a new line of cars of that name being produced in Kent. Captain Scarlet soon finds himself arrested by security guards at the factory in Kent, not at all aiding his investigations.

Elsewhere, Jason King, Stewart Sullivan and Annabelle Hurst begin work on a new assignment for Department S.
