A neural implosion was a potential side effect of regeneration.
A while after his tenth regeneration, the Tenth Doctor stated "[he was] having a neural implosion", due to Rose Tyler having woken him up too soon. It was healed by the aroma of tea. (TV: The Christmas Invasion)
