In 2018, the South Yorkshire Council governed the Sheffield area in South Yorkshire, England. Rubbish bins within the city of Sheffield were thus marked as belonging to the South Yorkshire Council. (TV: The Woman Who Fell to Earth)

In the real world, the South Yorkshire County Council was abolished in 1986. Since then, Sheffield has been governed by the Sheffield City Council instead.
