Commander "Z" was a "heroic" SSS space pilot. He dared to fly closer to Mercury than usually recommended, and discovered a Dalek plot to construct a proton-beam projector and use it against Earth and Venus. He sacrificed himself to save both planets, blowing up his ship and the projector with it. The onboard footage of his mission was eventually recovered and ultimately released by Space HQ.
