1992 was a year in which a number of events important to the production of Doctor Who and its spin-offs occurred.
- Unknown - To mark Doctor Who's thirtieth anniversary in 1993, the BBC announced plans for a made-for-video movie entitled The Dark Dimension which would have featured all surviving Doctor actors, most notably Tom Baker. Production was ultimately cancelled and the shorter tribute, Dimensions in Time, was commissioned instead.
