41.1978.A (unreleased webcast)
41.1978.A was an unreleased webcast by Realms of Ink, originally set for release in March 2022. Produced by Xavier Llewellyn with Aristide Twain, this webcast — framed as an in-universe advertisement for Gevity, a fictitious brand of energy drink — would've expanded on the character Epsilon. However, due to Llewellyn's dissatisfaction with the final cut and the creative differences with the actors in the short, it was ultimately cancelled.[1]
The webcast would've also had a framing narrative of a case file documenting an investigation undertaken by C.R.U.X. into the drink, circa early 1985.[1]
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
Case file 41.1978.A documents C.R.U.X.'s investigation into Epsilon Enterprises in early 1985, around seven years after the company was founded. They discovered that the drink was good as advertised and that it was launched to exploit the Winter of Discontent, but struggled to uncover any information about the business due to it shutting down just a year later, in 1979.
An advertisement is included in the case file, which featured John Brown, the company's CEO, explaining the benefits of 'Gevity™ with demonstrations of the product.[1]

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- This story would've introduced three C.R.U.X. employees — Pierre Montgomerie, Ms Lavine and Bob — from the 1980s.[1]
- The story was initially conceived and produced as a fictional advert to be included in a college short film Llewellyn was working on, but it developed into a separate project. It entered pre-production in November and December 2021, was filmed in January 2022, and edited in February 2022.[1]
- During production, the webcast had the title 'Gevity!™ Advert.[1]
- An earlier draft of the framing narrative was darker in tone.[1]
- Along with the unreleased audio dramas Journey into Time [+]Loading...["Journey into Time (unreleased audio story)"], Absent Friends [+]Loading...["Absent Friends (unreleased audio story)"], and City of the Saved, 41.1978.A is one of only four performed Doctor Who universe-related stories known to have been fully recorded, but never officially released.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- C.R.U.X. and Epsilon were established in Aristide Twain's short story Out of the Box [+]Loading...["Out of the Box (short story)"].
- "Gevity" was established to have been temporarily used as an alternate name for gravity in Love & War [+]Loading...["Love & War (short story)"], with either Epsilon or one of his followers being responsible for the alteration.
