Abel was a soldier under Colonel Joshua's command. His best friend was Lieutenant Cain.
On the P'tarr planet, Abel was part of the group led by Cain to investigate a large box in the jungle. The group encountered the Fourth Doctor, Leela and Trok'larr. Though they had been ordered not to kill, Abel killed Trok'larr.
After they brought the Doctor to Joshua, Leela and ten P'tarr attacked their camp. Abel was wounded in the attack. (PROSE: One Bad Apple)
