The third Lord Aldbourne was a British aristocrat in the 18th century. Young and dissolute, he set up his own version of the Hellfire Club in Devil's End, where he and his fellow rakes played at devil worship and black magic, aided by London doxies and large amounts of claret and laudanum. (TV: The Dæmons, PROSE: The Eight Doctors)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Lord Aldbourne was presumably named after the village of the same name where location shooting for The Dæmons took place. Although the TV story places these events in the 18th century, the novel says it was in the early 19th century.
