Alien is a multimedia science fiction horror franchise which began with a film of the same name.

Although there are no known licensed crossovers between Alien and the Doctor Who universe, various DWU narratives have involved elements of the Alien franchise, often through use of the Xenomorphs or the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
First, the Doctor Who serial Mindwarp [+]Loading...["Mindwarp (TV story)"] features a brief appearance by a "chestburster" Xenomorph in Crozier's laboratory, which the Sixth Doctor appears visibly repulsed by.
Another Doctor Who serial, Paradise Towers [+]Loading...["Paradise Towers (TV story)"], later featured the logo of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation on various barrels in Paradise Towers.
The Virgin New Adventures novel So Vile a Sin [+]Loading...["So Vile a Sin (novel)"] features reference to the resin secreted by Xenomorphs.
The Doctor Who episode Dalek [+]Loading...["Dalek (TV story)"] later featured an "Ovomorph" - that being a Xenomorph egg - in Henry van Statten's Vault, as part of his collection of alien artefacts.
The Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor comic story Secret Agent Man [+]Loading...["Secret Agent Man (comic story)"] featured a cameo appearance by a Xenomorph wearing a tuxedo aboard the Stardreamer II.
The animated reconstruction of The Power of the Daleks [+]Loading...["The Power of the Daleks (TV story)"] features the Weyland-Yutani Corporation's logo on a communication device.
The Book of the Enemy short story The Annotated Autopsy of Agent A [+]Loading...["The Annotated Autopsy of Agent A (short story)"] features "life-spores", which are suggested to be the basis of the Xenomorphs in the Alien franchise.

- Ridley Scott, the director of Alien, was originally scheduled to design The Daleks.
- John Hurt played Kane in Alien. As referenced by Toshiko in the DWU, the film was famous for the scene where the Xenomorph burst out of Kane's chest.
- Alibe Parsons played a Med Tech in Aliens.
- Tip Tipping played Private Crowe in Aliens.
- Trevor Steedman, who appeared as a guard in Warriors of the Deep, played Private Wierzbowski in Aliens.
- Brian Glover played Harold Andrews in Alien 3.
- Paul McGann played Golic in Alien 3. Paul McGann also exists in the DWU.
- Danny Webb played Morse in Alien 3.
