Anima

The Anima were a race that possessed inanimate objects. They poured into the universe from the Time Vortex through cracks such as an Animus Rip.

At first they could only possess small, household objects, feeding off the "weird energy" generated from the fact that an inanimate object was alive. They could gradually work up to larger objects such as houses, eventually possessing several houses or a street, able to make it bounce. The Anima possessed various objects on Earth in a woman's house, including a stuffed animal called Sock Pig, a toy horse, a toaster, and other items. This caused disturbances which the Fifth Doctor tracked. He sealed the Rip, leaving a sliver of harmless energy which left Sock Pig animated. (AUDIO: Sock Pig)
