Arnold Farrow

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Arnold Farrow was a civil servant who was murdered by Mark Forester.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

A lover of cats, Arnold Farrow owned one himself and, whilst not rich, he was comfortable and ran a boat. (PROSE: Planet of Giants) He answered to Whitmore and was charged with testing and writing a report on DN6 which would determine whether or not it would be approved by the Ministry. (TV: Planet of Giants)

Finding that the insecticide was indiscriminate, Farrow attempted to explain this to Professor Smithers without success, realising that the professor was unwilling to face the truth. He became irritated with Mark Forester whilst explaining to him that he would not be granting him authorisation to begin the manufacture of DN6 (PROSE: Planet of Giants) and, after refusing a bribe, was shot and killed by him. (TV: Planet of Giants)

Legacy[[edit] | [edit source]]

As Farrow was officially on holiday, Forester planned to dispose of his body and wreck his boat to make it look as though he had died at sea. He and Smithers hid his body in a cupboard in the meantime and, after PC Bert Rowse entered the cottage, (TV: Planet of Giants) Smithers took him to Farrow's body. (PROSE: Planet of Giants)

Personality[[edit] | [edit source]]

Farrow was a fussy man who always arrived to appointments early. He was willing to do whatever his duty demanded him to, however unpleasant, and had a "core of steel" beneath his plump exterior. Whilst he was able to act in the manner expected of a civil servant, he could not always keep himself from showing his irritation with obstinacy. His favourite motto was "waste not, want not" and he liked cats, admiring their independence. (PROSE: Planet of Giants)

Appearance[[edit] | [edit source]]
