The Ascension Pennant was a flag awarded to 312 by his employer after he helped save a significant number of people from a dying sun using a catafalque.
312 had the pennant with him when he arrived at the Eternity Club and forgot its significance as a result of his memory problems. It ended up being used as a tablecloth in the club's dining room after he absent-mindedly put it in the laundry and remained in that function until Bernice Summerfield realised its significance.
