Baldwin was a member of Professor Sorenson's expedition to Zeta Minor in 37166.

Baldwin and Sorenson discovered a rich vein of anti-matter minerals in sector 5 and began collecting samples. When Braun reported that nightfall was coming, Baldwin petitioned Sorenson to return to base, but he was unwilling to do so lest the vein be lost.
Baldwin returned alone, where he was killed by the anti-matter creature, but not before activating a distress call that reached the Fourth Doctor. (TV: Planet of Evil)
