Beeling

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Beelings were a species of large bee-like creatures cultivated in the Gardens of Everlasting Summer by Jinpar.

They served to help maintain the perfectly preserved ecosystem and he was especially proud of them, being particularly distraught when, due to the influence of his time meddling and some wasps accidentally brought in by the Thirteenth Doctor, one generation mutated into so-called "wasplings".

Young beelings looked almost identical to Earth bees except rounder, were around the same size as a human baby, and acted similarly, being unable to talk and mostly helpless. Dan Lewis was enamoured by one beeling that he nicknamed Stripe and looked after while escaping from a swarm of giant wasps; he later left him in their care after they were pacified.
