Beth was a staff member at Coal Hill School.
In 2014, she was in the school staff room when Frank Armitage introduced Danny Pink and Clara Oswald to each other. At Armitage's behest, Beth left the vicinity in order to have a private discussion with him, readily accepting his request to have "a word" with her. (TV: Into the Dalek)
