Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Relatively soon into her life, Betty Stobbold's mother died, resulting in her only having he father for "most of [her] life", although, but his own admission, he didn't make enough time to see her. As her father was very busy, she acted as housekeeper for him and any guests.

One night, after returning home from a meeting with Lord Robert Urton, Betty's father, Stobbold, gifted her a pendant given by Urton's honoured guest, Roger Nepath, for that purpose. Following this, she was possessed by the fire elemental and the only words she spoke were "Thank you. It's lovely", as they were the last thing she said upon recieving the gift. Following the fire elemental's demise at the hands of the Eighth Doctor and the residents of Middletown destroying their dam, Betty regained her identity and survived, getting to live on with her father.
