A BirthBud was a device used on the medical ship Tsuranga in the 67th century in the process of childbirth.
Due to a Pting attack on the Tsuranga, the generators failed and Yoss Inkl had to give birth without the use of a BirthBud. (TV: The Tsuranga Conundrum)
