• Amber Staton is under SkyTech jurisdiction.
• By 2280, bagpipes had almost entirely dropped in popularity, rarely used for even ceremonial occasions.
• Instruments in the store include a Stradivarius, other violins, harmonicas, trumpets, trombones, a tuba, a double-bass, a Arcturan chimecandle and a perigosto stick.
• The destroyed freighter contained a saxophone, a jew's harp and several recorders.
• The Doctor plays The Skye Boat Song and Bach's Air on a G String on his new recorder.

Notes

• This is the second Doctor Who Yearbook story to relate itself to the events of The Three Doctors. The first is Future Imperfect, which takes place immediately after The Mind Robber and leads into The Three Doctors for the Second Doctor, while Briefly Notes is set shortly afterwards.

Continuity

• Zoe compares the space station to the Wheel, her home depicted in TV: The Wheel in Space ^[+]Loading...["The Wheel in Space (TV story)"].
• The Doctor's memories of defeating Omega in the events of TV: The Three Doctors ^[+]Loading...["The Three Doctors (TV story)"] quickly fade after being returned to his timestream. However, he does remember that he lost his recorder and goes to a music shop on Amber Station to buy a new one. The sum of his memories, otherwise, include recollection of the Force field generator and Cromer.
• The Doctor hums the tune Teddy Bear's Picnic. Zoe listened to that song with Isobel Watkins in TV: The Invasion.
• There is an Arcturan chimecandle in the music shop. The Arcturans first appeared in TV: The Curse of Peladon ^[+]Loading...["The Curse of Peladon (TV story)"].
• The perigosto stick was first mentioned in TV: The Green Death ^[+]Loading...["The Green Death (TV story)"])
