Broadway was a street in Manhattan which intersected with at least 34th Street. In 1938, the Eighth Doctor landed the TARDIS at that very intersection, and he and Charley had an adventure with Orson Welles on the even of Welles' The War of the Worlds radio broadcast from the Empire State Building.
