Bruderbakker Industries
Bruderbakker Industries, founded by Charles Bruderbakker, was the largest manufacturer of mobile phones in the New Earth Republic. With control over 88% of the mobile infrastructure—base stations, satellites, interstellar relays—and manufacturing over 60% of all phones, Bruderbakker's only competition was the second largest manufacturer of mobile phones, Republica Communications, which also controlled the remainder of the infrastructure.
Charles Bruderbakker "built the company from the ground up", he later told his wife Joan. "Twenty-hour days, never seeing [his daughter] Claudia from one week to the next." Claudia claimed that Charles had designed the very first mobile phone.
When Bruderbakker was unwilling to give up his company, Walter J. Matheson attempted to use Brudenbakker's wife to convince him to sign it over, and when this was unsuccessful simply had him killed, and his signature faked on the transferral documents. Bruderbakker Industries became a wholly owned subsidiary of Walter J. Matheson's WJM Inc, which now controlled the entire mobile phone industry. (PROSE: Synthespians™)
