Calantha
Calantha was an ambitious member of the court of the Stagnant Protocol who wanted to eventually become the empress. She became a rival against the the War Master in his plans, often thwarting his attempts to embezzle himself in the court.
First, she became the Minister of Supply in the Ministry of Food. She eventually became the Minister of Eternal Affairs, creating rumours of a plague. The Master and she often dined together. She banished Gardam from the homeworld. She eventually became the Grand Vizier. After the Eternal Blind Empress died of the plague, she became the empress. She started her reign vowing revenge on the universe. The Master realised that she faked the plague. The Master gave her the casket of one of her enemies after they were shot by the Tissue Compression Eliminator. They continued there dinners with each other and he warned her about the gossip of the servants. After being attacked by a crowd, the Master told her about a new strain of the plague and raised her to being a regent chancellor. She told him about a new cause of death in court, in that nobles would smother their spouses to stop the Master learning their secrets. She later told everyone that the Master had left public life after providing the cure, but had him confined to a cell until he would giver her the formula for the cure. She infected him with her version of the plague so he would relive all the trauma he inflicted as a form of torture. She believed him dead and blamed the time lords of their predicament. The Master revealed her treachery. She vowed to create an alliance with the Daleks, though the Master placed a Dalek specific version of the plague on her ship.
