Capacitator bank

The capacitator bank was a massive, mushroom-shaped installation with complex circuitry beneath its transparent dome. It was located in the centre of the Wheel's power room and controlled the x-ray laser, which was useless without the bank.
Jamie McCrimmon was shown the capacitator bank by Zoe Heriot and Bill Duggan and damaged it with quick-set plastic to prevent the laser being used to destroy Silver Carrier. With the primary relay contacts of the booster mirrors fused shut, the technicians had to strip down the whole unit to repair it. (TV: The Wheel in Space)
