Casablanca was a port city on Earth.

In the 1890s, the cruise ship Fata Morgana was due to make its first stop at Casablanca. Due to some mysterious fog, however, the cruise ship ended up encountering alternate versions of itself, before eventually making an unintended first stop in Monte Carlo instead. In 1941, during World War II, it was under French jurisdiction. Casablanca was the only way out of Europe to avoid the Nazis, who were expected to march in any minute. In that year, the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams visited the city and stopped Silurians from causing an extinction level event to take control of the Earth back from humans.
