A catapult was a siege weapon used to hurl large projectiles at one's enemies or at their fortifications.
During the reign of Richard I of England, a catapult was used by the forces of Earl Godfrey to hurl experimental gunpowder at a gigantic Krynoid. A flaming arrow was then fired at the Krynoid, causing it to explode. (AUDIO: The Green Man)
