The Caterpillar Men were a race of caterpillar-like beings with hypnotic abilities. In 2035, a group of Caterpillar Men came to Earth and captured a gathering the world's top scientists, announcing to the world that they planned to make the scientists help them conquer the planet. They also captured the First Doctor, who had arrived in the TARDIS with John and Gillian in the jungle where the Caterpillar Men had set up their base. The aliens were defeated when World Pest Control, whom John and Gillian asked for help, sprayed the base with pesticides lethal to insects but harmless to humans. (COMIC: The Caterpillar Men)
