Sgt Catherine Petts worked for UNIT in the mid-2000s.

In the early hours of 27 March 2005, as part of Operation Mannequin, Sgt Catherine Petts and other personnel worked on cleaning up damages inflicting during the "mannequin" attack. She enjoyed an early breakfast, and submitted a triage of casualties to a secure operations board on the UNIT website. (PROSE: Operation Mannequin [+]Loading...["Operation Mannequin (short story)"])
A year later, Catherine Petts submitted a report on Rose Tyler to other UNIT officers on an operations board. She highlighted that her boyfriend Mickey Smith ran the website www.whoisdoctorwho.co.uk, which sparked reactions from other officers. (PROSE: Rose Tyler [+]Loading...["Rose Tyler (short story)"])
On Christmas Eve, Catherine wished the other officers on an operations board a Happy Christmas, and informed them that the bloody thing had went missing. After the aliens began broadcasting on television, she didn't take it too seriously, placing a bet on how long until the aliens began "flogging jewelry". She was scolded by Sgt A. Frederick, although Frederick did partake in the bet. After being told by Frederick a directive from the PM's office told them that the spaceship blew up of its own accord, Catherine and Frederick pretended to be ignorant of the truth. In 2024, (TV: Empire of Death [+]Loading...["Empire of Death (TV story)"]) many of the messages exchanged during the Christmas Day Invasion were retrieved (PROSE: "Case File: The Christmas Day Invasion" [+]Part of Strong-Arm Tactics, Loading...{"page":"274-275","namedpart":"Case File: The Christmas Day Invasion","1":"Strong-Arm Tactics (short story)"}) and reviewed, as they were included in the Gold Archive, which had been compromised by Sutekh and his harbinger, and earlier, the Grand Serpent.
