The premise that Tardelli "deliberately made art that damaged the material universe" came to be viewed by conservative academics such as T. E. Hamster of Santa Diana University as a politically controversial statement, typical of the "Ice Hot movement" which they thought was fueled by "anti-human" sentiment. Hamster mentioned the outcry against Tardelli's works in an opinion piece for the Journal of Presentism and Transtemporal Mendacity entitled "Take Me Down To Paradise Towers": Reclaiming Kroagnon: Democratic accountability and the Defence of the Past, which mostly dealt with the legacy of Kroagnon.
