(AUDIO: 1963 [+]Loading...["1963 (audio story)"]) Coal Hill School gave special air raid warning lessons to deal with the emergency, (PROSE: Time and Relative [+]Loading...["Time and Relative (novel)"]) as did Brideport Elementary School. By 2020, it was regarded as being the closest the world had ever come to nuclear war. Such an event did not come to pass, however, after both sides decided to talk it over instead, with the Thirteenth Doctor saying that humanity had "dodged a really big bullet". One cause of the missile crisis was from the Jalaphron, who wanted the Cold War to end so that they could feed on the war that would follow. (PROSE: Checkpoint [+]Loading...["Checkpoint (short story)"])

In 1903, after receiving a wealth of information from the future, Grigori Rasputin foresaw the Cuban Missile Crisis. (AUDIO: The Wanderer [+]Loading...["The Wanderer (audio story)"])

In 2015, relations between the United States and Cuba remained tense. (AUDIO: The Eight Truths [+]Loading...["The Eight Truths (audio story)"])

Graham O'Brien was a toddler when the crisis happened, and he later learned about it in school. He filled Ryan Sinclair and Yasmin Khan in on the crisis when they inadvertently ended up in October 1962 during their travels with the Thirteenth Doctor.
