Cyber-filament

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Cyber-filament (PROSE: Made of Steel) was a form of artifical flesh tissue created and used by the Cybusmen of Pete's World to connect modified earpieces directly to a human brain.

Infiltrating the Torchwood Tower of N-Space in 2007, the Cybusmen partially cyber-converted Adeola Oshodi, Gareth Evans and Matt Crane into drones controlled through modified Torchwood earpieces connected via cyber-filaments. The Tenth Doctor was forced to euthanise them by overloading their earpieces via his sonic screwdriver. Baffled as to how they could be controlled with simple communications devices, Yvonne Hartman pulled Adeola's EarPod out of her right ear, only to find, much to her disgust, a string of brain tissue, which she promptly discarded. (TV: Army of Ghosts)

Sometime after the Battle of Canary Wharf, (TV: Doomsday) upon learning from Martha Jones that Adeola was her cousin, the Tenth Doctor recalled, with discomfort, the sight of Adeola's EarPod being forced from her ear by Yvonne Hartman, taking Cyber-filament from Adeola's ear with it.
