D'Pau
D'Pau was Empress Rose Tyler's guard and second-in-command.
Originally hailing from a planet on which Rose led a revolution, D'Pau's people saw an opportunity for revenge against their former oppressors, turning them into slaves. Rising through the ranks of Rose's empire, D'Pau became dissatisfied with the prospect of the fighting ending, forming an alliance with the Sontarans to overthrow the empress. Before he could though, he was ordered to find the Tenth Doctor. Instead finding the Eleventh Doctor, D'Pau brought him to Rose.
After the empress had been replaced by her N-Space counterpart and ordered the launch delayed, D'Pau overthrew her, revealing his alliance and launching the fleet. D'Pau's ambitions were thwarted when the two Roses touched, the Blinovitch Limitation Effect banishing the Sontarans. Deprived of his army, D'Pau returned to Creerm, promising the empress that she could not hold onto power forever. (COMIC: Empire of the Wolf)
