The eleventh issue of the Doctor Who DVD Files - "The Ultimate Build-up Doctor Who Encyclopaedia" had a cover date of 3 June 2009.

- Each issue came with a DVD release covering two episodes.
- Reversible DVD sleeves enabled the collector to display one of two designs featuring either the Doctor and his enemies or his companions.
- "I'm The Wire and I'm... hungry!"
- The TARDIS mucks up the Doctor and Rose's plan to see Elvis when it lands in the wrong country. Luckily, however this means they're in the right time and place to save the world from the Wire, an alien entity which is stealing people's faces through their television sets!
- "We're on a planet that shouldn't exist, underneath a black hole... and no way out."
- The Doctor and Rose land on a world somehow balanced on the edge of a black hole and lose the TARDIS while an ancient evil stirs deep inside the planet... Could this be the end for the time-travelling pair?

- Queen Elizabeth II's coronation was on 2 June 1953.
- Astrid is an anagram of TARDIS.
- Magpie Electricals provided television sets in the UK from the 1950s to present day (ref. TV: The Sound of Drums).
- The Doctor's sonic screwdriver has been destroyed in The Visitation (by Terileptils) and Smith and Jones (by an X-ray machine).
- Actor Mark Strickson, who played Vislor Turlough, dyed his hair for the part because it was too similar in colour to that of the Fifth Doctor.
- Both Turlough and his younger brother Malkon had the Misos Triangle branded onto their arms.
- Valtino script tells of the Beast being imprisoned on Krop Tor by the Disciples of the Light.
