The Gendar made a device that eventually ended up in the Vault.

After it ended up in the Vault, head scientist Miles Werbiansky tried to disassemble it in March 2011, when Giles and Archie investigated the site. It was held together with screws, but whenever Miles removed one, it would reappear in its correct place. (PROSE: A Worthy Successor)
